'Koti' in Kannada means a crore, and Kotilingeshwara is 1 crore Shivalingas. The Kotilingeshwara temple, with the tallest Shivalinga in the world is installed here along with 90+ lakhs of other Shivalingas of different sizes. Shri Someshwara Swamy Temple boasts a history that spans centuries, tracing its origins to ancient times. Dedicated to Lord Shiva, the temple is believed to have been built during 1712 A.D., making it an integral part of Karnataka's cultural tapestry.
